The Art On My Walls – Part 2

Alright, here’s the second group of paintings from my The Art On My Walls series. I hope you enjoy!

Element: Water
Element: Water

She’s probably one of my all time favourites. This was when I was getting started with watercolour, and I was doing the elements as young women. Water was my favourite. I think I still have Fire around somewhere.

Manhattan in the rain. Done when I was in the city for TEFL training.
Manhattan in the rain.

Did this one with markers and a red coloured pencil while in Manhattan getting my TEFL training. It was grey all the time, and it rained often. I was always fascinated by the reflections of the people and skyscrapers in the puddles. I am not often found in the city. It was cool to discover all the unique art opportunities that setting provides.

I had an online art teacher for a while, and she taught me a thing or two about watercolour. Gabe/Fitz is in love with the ocean, and that inspired me to do this one.

I saw this guy in an aquarium in New Zealand and was struck by his beautiful colours.
Seahorse

I found this little guy in an aquarium in New Zealand and was absolutely blown away by his colouration. He really was that brightly coloured. I couldn’t do him justice, but I tried.

Meh. Really not my favourite, but this is a "art on my walls" post, not a, "art I'm actually proud of" post.

Meh. She doesn’t have a name, because I’m not particularly proud of her. She was a cafe doodle during time with my love, so for that I like her. But as a painting? Eh. But hey, this is an, “art on my walls” post, not an “art I’m crazy proud of” post. So here she is.

Much better. Did her on the way to the Hero Round Table Conference... then lost my felt pens.
Let Your Hair Down

I actually adore her. Worked on her on my way to the Hero Round Table Conference, and then lost my felt pens. She’s unfinished, but I keep her up anyway.

Soul Squirrels: silly imaginary adventures of me and Red. A way to cope with long distance.
Soul Squirrels: Rainstorm

The silly imaginary adventures of me and Red. We’d tell each other stories and make little illustrations for each other. It was a good way of coping with long distance and enjoying each other’s creative process. Art and stories were how we first connected, and they’re still vital parts of our lives.

White on black: a study in wrinkles. I love that the cigarette glows.

I did this at 17, I think? I love it! Wish I’d done more with white on black, and maybe I will. I love that the cigarette glows.

I call this one Crooked Boobies and Ketchup. Another oops. :P
I call this one Crooked Boobies and Condiments. :P

Yeah, another experiment that went weirdly. But she’s so weird, I actually find her interesting and can’t get rid of her. Ha.

My current project. I need to fix her foot before I paint her.

Last but not least, my current project. Still mapping her out and finding flaws with how I’ve drawn her. Her foot is bugging me right now, for instance. She’ll be cool when I get the chance (and the funds) to paint her.
