Homecoming Food Bucketlist
Hey peoples!
I´m currently just two days away from my return date. On Thursday, volcano willing, I will fly back to Canada. (Seriously, volcano. If you blast so much ash into the atmosphere that my plane can´t make it off the ground, I will be more than a little miffed at you.) Will is going to be there to pick me up when I touch down. I think he´s planning on taking me for dinner. Oh yes.
Food is the thing I miss the most when I´m in Central or South America. Don´t get me wrong, I love trying new things and the food here is pretty good, but I desperately miss some of my favorite things. You can only have black beans, tortillas, rice, and veggies so many times before you start to get a bit homesick. I´ve been dreaming about food lately. So, without further ado, here´s my bucketlist of munchies for when I get home:
- Sushi! I´ve been craving sushi constantly.
- Steak. I haven´t had meat in two months.
- Cheeeeese
- More cheese
- Olives
- Bacon
- Hamburgers
- Apples
- Chocolate
- Salami
- Campbell´s tomato soup. I don´t know why.
- Oreos
- Pistachios
- Onion rings
- A slushie
- Pie
- Smarties
- Vietnamese food
- Chinese takeout
Basically, every not-particularly-healthy but amazing thing I can´t easily find here. Most of those things can be found, but at a low quality and a shocking price. So I´ve been waiting. I´ve been eating like a saint here, actually. Tons of veggies, local fruits, rice, noodles, eggs. Very low on dairy and meat. Bring on the meat and junk food, this girl is ready for a treat!
