Study Abroad, Netherlands: Hello, Fall!

I’m so ready for fall. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer as well. But there’s something about fall and Europe that’s just perfect. The tourists are gone, the backpackers have returned home, and the locals have come out to play. There’s a different local event every weekend. This weekend found me wandering the square I’ve come to affectionately call my “front yard,” exploring racks of vintage clothes in a massive fall vintage fest. I picked out a comfy red flannel long-sleeve to keep me warm in the chilly months to come, then wandered to the food trucks with a few classmates. Oh, the food trucks. Heck yes. Fresh waffles, real Vietnamese street food (weird, right?), strawberry lemonade, sandwiches, and all of your foodie heart’s desires. Can I just live here forever?

Today I’m curled up in my cozy attic, burning candles and studying for exams. It’s going to be a long week of assignments and stress, but at the end of it, I’ll take the train to Germany to visit family and celebrate Octoberfest. Whoop! Any tips from those of you who have been before?

Life is good, fall is good, waffles are good, and I have a lot on my plate. Let’s do this!
